When a child comes out as transgender, parents find themselves in a reality for which they have no map. My journey as the CEO of the Lioness Alliance taught me that genuine support for parents is not just comfort, but a foundation for deep and stable family acceptance.

When my child came out as a transgender youth, I discovered something that no one had prepared me for: parents have their own journey too. A journey of learning, of deconstructing old perceptions, of building a new language, and of confronting fears I didn't know were within me.

That was the moment I realized that if I, a woman with a professional and social background, feel lost — what about a mom in a peripheral area? A religious mom? A dad who doesn’t know anyone in the community?
